About This Event

The School of Life invites you to an evening of gentle honesty and warm connection, inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, the practice of mending broken pottery with gold, honouring its cracks rather than disguising them. This event takes that idea and applies it to our inner worlds: how might we begin to see the imperfections, setbacks and oddities of our emotional lives not as flaws to conceal, but as sources of beauty, humour and depth?
Through a carefully curated series of questions and conversational prompts, we’ll explore the stories we often keep hidden, of things that went awry, mistakes we’ve lived through, and the strange turns our lives have taken. In a spirit of candour and compassion (and with a healthy dash of lightness), we’ll reflect together on the wisdom that can emerge from imperfection. This isn’t about confession or therapy, but about connection: a chance to share something real, be surprised by others, and leave feeling a little more whole, cracks and all.
