Authentic Leadership At Work

As our careers develop and progress, it’s almost inevitable that we will have to take on a role involving more leadership. Once we’ve reached this stage, it’s quite common to feel unsure about some of the added responsibilities: we might then adopt a style of management that is not our own, mimicking second or third-hand ideas of what it means to be authoritative and strong.

Leadership tends to amplify our weaknesses as well as our strengths. Without an authentic leadership style, we run the risk of losing touch with what made us great at our work, the crucial competence which can inspire commitment and get results. In this session, we reflect on what distinguishes a great leader from a merely capable one. We explore how our personal histories have shaped our assumptions. We consider our strengths and blind spots and how they are likely to affect others on our team. Finally, we address key leadership challenges, from the need to create a compelling vision to empowering others to do their best work.

In this professional workshop, we:

- Discover what motivates you to lead, and how to use that to drive you forward;
- Take a realistic look at some of the trials of leadership and how to tackle them;
- Develop a more compassionate approach to your weaknesses, to ultimately help improve your relationships with others;
- Learn to communicate your purpose to clients and colleagues clearly and concisely;
- Look at how to build a more productive workforce by demonstrating trust in employees.

Please note, this business workshop is intended for those who have not attended our public leadership class ‘How To Be A Good Leader. While this business workshop is focussed on developing your leadership skills specifically for a professional context, there is a cross over in content with the class. Please contact our team on 0481 263 041 if you have any questions.
