Spring School Intensive

Join us for one of the most eagerly anticipated highlights of The School of Life program.

During this 5 day Spring School Intensive you will embark on a rich and enlightening voyage, regenerating each aspect of your life from self-awareness and meaning to your relationships and work.

The seasons offer us a reminder that our lives move in constant cycles of change. With the arrival of Spring, we have the opportunity to draw on the wisdom of natural cycles of regeneration in our own lives. How do we allow seeds sown in our past – perhaps an idea never acted on, a desire never satisfied, a dream job not found – to come to fruition? How do we let go of areas of our lives which may have comforted us in the past but we now need to let go of to allow a new chapter to unfold and new opportunities to emerge?

This experience is ideal for those seeking a more meaningful, transformative journey and for those wishing to save time in the long run by working through the dilemmas of work, love, and self in a single, high intensity week. Blending tuition, exercises and discussion, each day of the Spring School will equip you with tools and strategies to help you ask bigger questions of yourself and of the world around you.

Spring School Intensive Itinerary:

Day One, Improving Your Emotional Intelligence: Equips us with the core skills of Emotional Intelligence. We will learn why our minds have a hard time understanding themselves, how to map and understand our anxieties and why we respond to frustration in certain ways.

Day Two, Developing Calm & Resilience: Takes us on a structured journey around resilience in the face of stress. Agitation is always in essence a mental phenomenon, a result of ideas – a calm mind-set therefore relies on having to hand a raft of calming ideas that can be called upon in moments of panic. Day two will end with a Conversation Dinner where we’ll learn to overturn small talk and master the art of opening up our deeper selves for greater connection.

Day Three, Making Relationships Work: Teaches us how to choose our partners wisely and make our relationships last. One of the gravest errors we make around relationships is to imagine that they aren’t things we can get better at. On this day we will learn to practice and refine our skills at love.

Day Four, Identifying Your Career Potential: Explores how we can achieve our career potential. We will employ psychological tools to better understand our talents, and move forward professionally and purposefully, using the opportunities open to us.

Day Five, Storytelling As Therapy & The Meaning of life: Explores narrative and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and how the world works. We will identify sources of meaning in the everyday and ask questions about how we can find more congruence in our day to day lives. The final day will end with casual drinks and reflections as a group.

By working within a supportive group, led by our expert facilitators, you'll dive deeper than would be possible in any single class. You’ll be challenged to think deeply about the issues that matter most, and provided with a space to share your thoughts, ideas and experiences.

The Spring School requires no prior knowledge and is open to everyone. The group size varies between 15 and 25 participants, and the age range is usually broad, allowing a rich exchange of experience.

Join us for a truly transformational vacation for the mind.

Testimonials

'I left the week feeling far more open to possibility than I had expected, at the same time understanding that how that possibility was taken on is entirely up to me. Powerful.'
– Jane

'A hurley burley ride up and down my personal history that felt part skydive, part colonoscopy (and I've done neither) that has left me with 20/20 hindsight, fraternity with a band of like-minded souls with whom to stroll into the future, and a deep appreciation of tools that make a life tick.'
– Alex

'When else do you get a chance to really think about what is important in life with fantastic inspiring teachers who really know and understand what they are talking about? I would highly recommend The School of Life one week intensive course to anyone. You not only meet great minded people, you also get time and space to really think about many different areas of your life from your career to great conversations. As Nike would say, 'just do it'. You will not regret it.'

'Seasons are a wise metaphor for the movement of life... It suggests that life is neither a battlefield nor a game of chance but something infinitely richer, more promising, more real.'
