Premarital Psychotherapy
We know that getting married needs a huge amount of preparation, but we overwhelmingly interpret the task in practical terms. We worry a lot about the flowers and devote extraordinary attention to the seating plan. And yet when people look back on a failed union and wonder where the mistakes might have arisen, they rarely come to the conclusion that the fault really lay in an ill-judged floral display or an unsuccessful after-party.
The main preparation we need ahead of marriage is not practical, but psychological. We need to understand ourselves, our partners, where difficulties may arise and how love might work. We need properly to fathom what we are headed into and what the correct mindset for the journey might be.
Premarital Therapy gifts a couple with the opportunity to see what issues they might face in the company of a hugely mature, kind and helpful psychotherapist (who never takes sides). The session enables both parties to look into their pasts, consider what dynamics they may be bringing into the relationship and how best to deal with the other’s psyche as they embark on a new phase of life. More pre-wedding counselling sessions may be arranged and this session provides a helpful and solid start - and, not least, makes for a perfect wedding gift for a couple one loves.
Booking Information - Online Psychotherapy
The first step to engage in therapy is to attend an initial session. Please purchase one initial session at your earliest convenience.
Please note that there is currently a waiting time of a few weeks for initial sessions.
Please note that for all new bookings, our therapy service is online only. We feel that online therapy allows for continuity and connection, and trascends borders in a way that is hugely valuable.
The initial session will last 50 minutes, and the fee is £100 (or EUR/USD equivalent). This will be an opportunity for you to have an in-depth conversation with a highly qualified psychotherapist. You may then choose to have weekly follow-on sessions. As soon as we receive booking confirmation, a therapist will get in touch to arrange a time to meet. All sessions are held in English.
