COVID-19 Update

With COVID-19 continuing to spread, along with recommendations provided over the past week from the likes of the World Health Organisation, we are cancelling all public events until the end of April, in both Melbourne and Sydney, from 16 March. Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our community and we would like to do our part in reducing the risk of further spreading the virus.

For us, it is a privilege to hold a space for public events and discourse, so we feel we have a responsibility to our participants, faculty and staff to be proactive and contribute to the solution.

We will monitor the situation closely and keep you informed about our program and its reopening via our website, newsletter and social media channels.

Our team is available to answer any of your questions. Please email enquiries@theschooloflife.com.au and we will come back to you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, thank you for your understanding and for being a part of The School of Life community. Take care of yourself and your families, and remember the power of kindness and community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are you postponing the public events?

Our community’s health and safety is the most important priority. It is a privilege to hold a space for public events and discourse, so we feel we have a responsibility to our participants, faculty and staff to be proactive and contribute to the solution.

Other educational institutions have not cancelled their events, why have you?

We want to stay true to the values that The School of Life upholds by leading with integrity and putting our communities’ health and safety first. We are proactively taking these precautions to play our part in reducing the spread.

Which events are affected?

Effective from 16 March, all events listed under the ‘Events’ tab on our website that take place during March and April have been cancelled. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will seek to program these events again later in the year.

Are all events listed on the website cancelled?

At this point, only our events up until April 30th have been cancelled. We will monitor the situation closely and keep you informed about our program and its reopening via our website, newsletter and social media channels closer to that time.

Can I get a full refund?

We are happy to offer a full ticket credit so that you can join the event again once it’s been re-programmed, which we anticipate will happen from May onwards. We will announce the reopening of our public events closer to that time.

Please note, that your credit will last up to 12 months so you can select an event on the date of your choice.

How do I get a credit?

Please email our team at enquiries@theschooloflife.com.au who will arrange a credit for you.

I’ve booked accommodation and flights to attend a now cancelled event, will you provide compensation?

We suggest getting in contact with your flight and accommodation provider, along with your insurance provider to see if they can provide compensation for you.

I would like to speak to someone, who can I contact?

Our team is available to answer any of your questions. Please email enquiries@theschooloflife.com.au and we will come back to you as soon as possible.

I’ve bought tickets to an event/workshop that hasn’t yet been cancelled, when will you provide an update?

We will keep you updated on the status of our upcoming events. We are monitoring the situation closely via WHO updates, and we will let you know about our programs and their reopening via our website, newsletter and social media channels as we get more information.

I’ve bought tickets to an event/workshop that hasn’t yet been cancelled, should I cancel accommodation and my flights?

We recommend holding off on booking accommodation and flights until closer to the date.

Will any of the events/workshops be rescheduled for later in the year?

Yes, that’s our aim. We are working with facilitators and speakers to reprogram our courses, workshops and events for later in the year. We will keep you informed about our program via our website, newsletter and social media channels closer to the time.

Will you be offering online classes?

We are currently looking into this. If you are interested in us providing a class or workshop via Zoom, please take 3 minutes to fill out this survey.
