Life Lessons with MARINA
The School of Life was established in large part to help us understand the role that emotions play in shaping our lives. This spring, multi-platinum selling artist MARINA (formerly Marina and the Diamonds) will visit The School to provide her own unique perspective on this same idea.
MARINA’s upcoming album LOVE + FEAR is a musical exploration of two contrasting emotions and the ways that they define how we see and act in the world. Taking inspiration from psychologist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross belief that “there are only two emotions: love and fear”, the album arranges its songs into two collections (titled “Love” and “Fear”) to examine how both have influenced her songwriting, her career, and her life in general.
MARINA will be in conversation with Tanya Byron to talk about her experiences making her new album and how the process has helped her reflect on her experiences up to this point. Join us for a wise and insightful conversation about music, the creative process, and the lessons learnt along the way.
