Slow Dating – Event Five (45+ Women and Men)
A date is at heart an audition for the emotional capacities required for the success of a long-term relationship. The real purpose of conversation must therefore be to try to understand the deep self of the other person.
Our present dating habits can feel like a natural part of existence, but in reality, they’ve only been around for a very short time and, we predict, won’t continue for too much longer in their current form. Dating has a history, which it pays to try to understand as we navigate the ritual’s paradoxical and often confusing priorities. Dating sits on top of some of the largest themes of love: how to know whether or not someone is right for us; how soon to settle and how long to search; how to be at once honest and seductive; how to politely extricate oneself without causing offence.
At The School of Life we believe great dates are made up of great conversations: ones where we find out more about one another, discover what makes us both tick, share some of what we like and reveal how we see the world.
Join us for an evening of ‘Slow Dating’ where we discuss the themes above with one of our expert facilitators for an unforgettable evening hosted on Zoom. We will send the participants a Conversation Menu before the event starts.
This event is part of a slow dating series; please note Event 5 is for 45+ Women seeking Men and Men seeking Women. The others in the series are Men only, Women only, and Women Seeking Men / Men Seeking Women Under 45. This event will be held in GMT, however, we invite people to join from around the world for a virtual meeting. Participants may be put in a virtual date with someone not based in the same country as you. If this is not something of interest, we would recommend you attend a future in person event.
Schedule - Please note that all timings are in Greenwich Mean Time:
