Susan Kahn is a core Business Faculty Member at The School of Life. Independently, Susan works as a coach, consultant and mediator with a particular interest in the behaviour of people at work, in groups and as individuals – in the joy and the challenges of working life.
In addition to her private clients she works as a lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London, teaching coaching and organisational psychology. Her doctoral research examined endings at work post the 2008 financial crisis, closely observing a failing bank. Her first career was in telecommunications and she has recently extended her group work to equine coaching with clients including the leadership team of a prison.
An anthropologist first she is a keen observer of working life, supported by training in consulting using psychoanalytic methods (MA, Tavistock) mediation and conflict resolution (MSc, Birkbeck) and philosophy and organizational psychology (PhD, Birkbeck).
