The School of Life Conference (Lisbon, Portugal)

The Conference

The School of Life Conference is a three-day event which covers the most important ideas we teach and aims to transform lives. It is designed to equip participants with a toolkit of Emotional Skills that will revolutionise your relationships, working lives and your sense of possibility and well-being.

The conference will take place in Lisbon’s historic Belém district in the south west of the city, at The Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown. Situated on the northern banks of the River Tagus, it looks out across the former harbour where, in the 15th century, merchant ships first set sail across the Atlantic to initiate the Age of Discovery. Today, this beautiful location stands to serve as the site of a new project of exploration: one of psychological and emotional inquiry into our inner and external selves.

Over the course of three busy days you will have the chance to meet and socialise with a likeminded community of peers. It is a chance to learn from others, to share experiences and to form lasting bonds with other participants in an atmosphere of exploration, intelligence and candour. The event is interactive, at points very entertaining and eye-opening throughout.

More information on the Conference Programme, additional events, recommended activities and accomodation will be released soon.

Important Information: This event is being held in Lisbon, Portugal.

Speakers

The event will be led by writer and philosopher – Chairman and Founder of The School of Life – Alain de Botton, and supported by founding members of The School of Life's Faculty.
