How To Be Confident

How To Be Confident [4 June 2013]

This class takes a close look at confidence and asks how we can boost it. Drawing on psychology, philosophy, music, the body, anthropology and mathematics, it helps us identify why we feel unconfident when we do and discover ways of overcoming that feeling of paralysis.

We ask what the difference is between confidence and arrogance, find ways of handling the transition to being a more confident person, and reflect on the fact that making ourselves more confident can make the world a whole a better place in which to live.

ABOUT CLASSES

Our classes have been designed to give useful insights around the big themes in life. You’ll be challenged to think deeply about the issues that matter most, and provided with a space to share your thoughts, ideas and experiences with other curious, open-minded individuals.

These sessions are designed by experts and taught by members of our faculty. They are limited to 28 people and include a mix of lecture and group activity and conversation.  Optional homework is provided for those interested in further study.
