Mindfulness One-day Workshop
Mindfulness is an integrative, mind-body approach to life that helps people relate effectively to their experiences. It involves paying attention to thoughts, feelings and body sensations in a way that can increase awareness, help us manage difficult experiences, and create space for wise choices. The School of Life are running a series of one-day workshops which will introduce you to the key principles of living mindfully, and introduce some basic practices to help you cultivate mindfulness in daily life. The day will include an experiential introduction to mindfulness meditation (including some gentle movement), short talks and discussion. You will also be pointed to ways you can develop your own practice. Ed Halliwell is a writer and mindfulness teacher . He is co-author of The Mindful Manifesto: How Doing Less And Noticing More Can Help Us Thrive In A Stressed-Out World and author of the Mental Health Foundation's Be Mindful Report. He also writes regularly for the Guardian on meditation, Buddhism, and well-being.
