Simple Living WeekendWhat to expect: This weeked is led by Tom Hodgkinson. Places are limited to 20 people. The weekend starts at 6pm on Friday 2 July and finishes at 4pm on Sunday 4 July. We will be based in and around Martinhoe, near Parracombe in North Devon for the whole weekend. Don’t forget your bathers if you think you might fancy a spot of wild swimming. You’ll also need suitable attire for napping, drinking tea, and strolling round the village. Camping space is available in Tom’s field. You will need to provide your own camping equipment. There is a bathroom, but please note there are no showers. We will provide breakfast for campers on Saturday and Sunday morning. If you wish to stay elsewhere, you are welcome to make your own arrangements. There is a list of hotels, bed & breakfast and self-catering cottages which are nearby below.

Getting to Martinhoe Train: from London Paddington, train to Tiverton Parkway and then £50 taxi. OR train to Exeter, change, train to Barnstaple, then £30 taxi or £2 bus to Martinhoe Cross, which is one mile from Martinhoe. Road: M4 to Bristol. M5 south towards Exeter. Come off at junction 27, signposted BARNSTAPLE and join A361. After 30 mins, turn right at roundabout on to the A399 to Ilfracombe, Lynton, Combe Martin. After 20 mins, turn right at Blackmoor Gate junction on to the A39, signposted Lynton. After approx six minutes, turn left just after Woody Bay Station and Moorlands B&B towards Woody Bay and Martinhoe. Drive past fields. At National Trust, veer left and into the tiny hamlet of Martinhoe. Turn right at the well just past church. Turn right again at Bungalow. Straight on through farmyard. The run order for the day is below however please be aware that timings are subject to change. |
